In the 2022-2023 application cycle , Pomona received 12,118 applications and admitted on 817. Pomona aims for 415 applicants per class, so they plan for a 50% yield rate. If that estimate is off and there are spots left open after accepted applicants have made their final pick of school, Pomona fills them off of the waitlist.

News & World Report , Carnegie Mellon is one of the top 10 hardest schools in America to get off the waitlist. For the 2022-2023 year, 8,986 applicants were wait-listed.

When it comes to Vassar’s waitlist, last year they offered 1336 waitlist spots. 638 students accepted their spot and they offered admission to 32 students on the waitlist. This translates to about a 5% chance of getting accepted off the waitlist. That being said, fluctuation is natural with waitlists.

You probably already know that the acceptance rate last year was a mere 7.3%, and while we don’t know the acceptance rate for this application cycle just yet it is likely to be even lower. What you might not know yet, though, are the in’s and out’s of the Cornell waitlist. The Cornell waitlist is historically massive.

If you’re here, you’re probably a pretty STEM-minded student, and you want to know exactly what you can do to get off the JHU waitlist. This translates to their waitlist too. In 2022, 3,443 students were offered a spot on the waitlist, and 2,358 students accepted their spot on the waitlist, and JHU admitted none of them.

That same year, 2,754 students were offered a place on the waitlist, and 1,557 took them up on the offer. Ultimately , 81 students were offered a place off of the waitlist, or 5.2%. That said, waitlists aren’t really something that can be counted on to be standard from year to year, so it’s hard to track trends.

The waitlist, though, has shown the opposite trend. Prior to COVID, it was normal for Williams to accept a few dozen students off of the waitlist each year.
