Test Optional: Should You Take the SAT or ACT?

In the ever-evolving landscape of college admissions, one question continues to perplex students, parents AND counselors: Should students take the SAT? Last summer, more than 1900 colleges were test optional, test-free or test-blind. In 2024, we have already seen several selective universities, including MIT, Cornell, Yale and Brown announce that they will once again require test scores of some sort (each policy is frustratingly different or vague) for the next application year.
