Waitlisted: The college likes your application, but needs to make sure they don’t offer too many acceptances. If enough other applicants decline admission and spots open up in your major area, you may be offered a spot before decision day (look out for an upcoming post for more details on how to approach being on a college's waitlist).

HARVARD ACCEPTANCE RATE: HIGHEST IN FOUR YEARS AS APPLICATION NUMBERS FALL Harvard accepted 3.59% of Regular Decision applicants to its Class of 2028, or 1,245 students. Harvard’s early acceptance rate increased by more than 1% from last year, with 8.74% of applicants admitted to the Class of 2028 from a pool of 7,921.

Last month, the admissions office extended its test-optional policy through to class of 2028’s application cycle, with plans to decide on a long-term testing policy in the winter of 2024. The remaining 1,433 received their offers of admissions Thursday.
