Cornell admitted 5,139 Students to the Class of 2028.   The university received 42,093 applications for the Early Action and Early Decision alone, which marked a 3.4 percent increase from the 40,713 early applications received for the Class of 2027. Previously in 2027, Cornell experienced a surge in applications, with an astounding 68,000 students vying for admission. However, the acceptance rate for this class stood at an incredibly competitive 7%, resulting in 4,994 students securing a place at the university. Among these admits, 3,324 students eagerly awaited Ivy Day notifications, while an additional 1,670 applicants received the exciting news during the early-decision round in December. The Class of 2024 experienced an overall acceptance rate of 10.7%. Regular decision applicants faced an 8.7% acceptance rate, resulting in 3,920 offers from 44,870 applications. The early decision round saw a higher acceptance rate of 24% from 6,630 applicants, filling nearly half of the expected class size of 3,296 students.
