I recently attended an event where everyone was asked to introduce themselves and to say their favorite thing about fall.  Common answers included changing leaves, cooler temperatures, various types of pumpkin foods, and Halloween.  But for high school students (and their parents), fall should bring to mind another important occurrence: college fairs.

Although college fairs can occur throughout the year, fall is the most popular time for them.  Depending on where you live, there may be several fairs over the next few weeks and months.  If you don’t live in a place where there are any in-person college fairs, don’t fret; there are now virtual fairs as well.

Even if you’re a high school freshman, it’s not too early to attend a college fair.  Doing so is an opportunity to gather information about a large number of colleges, as well as to demonstrate interest in colleges, as described in this blog post.

Below are links to upcoming fairs in the Denver area, and I’ve also indicated which fairs will be held in other cities as well.  Click on the links for information about where and when the fairs are happening, to see a list of participating colleges, and to register.

Many high schools offer college fairs exclusively for their students, so be sure to inquire if there will be one at your school.  Additionally, check out this blog post for tips on making the most of a college fair.
