What is Rolling Admission in College Applications?
Rolling admissions means that there is not a set date in which you must submit your application by because they will evaluate the applications as they come in. Typically, a school will begin accepting rolling applications in September or October and continue accepting them until they have filled their class. For the applicant, this means that the earlier you submit your application, the more available seats there are in the incoming class. Typically, schools will notify you of a decision around 6-10 weeks after you submit. Of course, this varies depending on the specific institution and some have been known to notify students as quickly as 2-3 weeks later. This can be a fantastic way to get some early wins at the beginning of your application cycle. It also shows a strong demonstrated interest on your behalf for applying early on.
