Summer Volunteer Ideas

Does your student have time to volunteer this summer? Here are some suggestions. (Click on underlined names for links to the programs.)

  • Central Park offers Teen Volunteer Days on the weekends where groups of teens clean up areas of the park. There is a June 8th event coming up.

  • Interested in farming in NYC? Earth Matters offers weekend volunteer opportunities at the farm and compost builds where teens can learn about composting, gardening, and animal care.

  • Even if you only have an hour to spare, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine uses volunteers to pick up food at a local restaurant and deliver it to a nearby food pantry.

  • Yorkville Common Pantry has volunteer shifts working in the pantry or serving hot food in Manhattan.

  • Pack activity kits with family or friends for Project Sunshine befitting children with cancer. They will send you the supplies and teens can get together and pack the kits and send them to a medical facility.
